The UCMMT 2026 organising committee is delighted to invite you to the 19th edition of the conference in Birmingham, U.K., from 23rd to 26th August 2026, hosted by the University of Birmingham, the birthplace of cavity magnetron and travelling-wave tube.
Birmingham is the 2nd largest city in the UK and a transportation hub with direct links to all major UK cities and destinations. The city and the surrounding region were shaped by the 1st Industrial Revolution and today boasts a vibrant base for industry, education and innovation. Within easy reach are many picturesque villages around Shakespeare’s Birthplace and the Cotswolds.
UCMMT was initiated in 2008 to stimulate and strengthen scientific collaboration, knowledge and cultural exchange in the mm-wave and terahertz technology community. It has been held annually since, alternating between Europe and China. The Conference has become a unique forum for leading scientists and early career researchers from Europe, China and beyond to share their knowledge in mm-waves and THz sources, devices, systems and applications.
Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts in electronic (PDF) format only. All papers must be written in English and 3-4 pages including text, references, and figures. The submission template is available on the UCMMT 2026 website. All submissions are subject to peer reviews. Full papers accepted by and presented in UCMMT will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore subject to IEEE Xplore's scope and quality requirements. It is noted that one-page abstract could also be acceptable, but it will not be included in IEEE Xplore.
Convened sessions are welcome. Please fill the short proposal form on the conference website.
