The XXVIII Annual International Conference of the Society of Operations Management (SOM 2025) will be hosted by IIM Nagpur on December 20–21, 2025.
Theme: Reimagining Operations—Agility, Analytics, and Sustainability.
In an era of global disruptions, digitalization, and sustainability issues, operations management is undergoing a profound transformation. The SOM 2025 Conference welcomes research papers under the theme “Reimagining Operations: Agility, Analytics, and Sustainability.” As today’s dynamic environments demand a shift from efficiency-focused operations, this conference invites research that demonstrates the integration of agility, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable practices across manufacturing, services, and global supply networks.
Agile operations have become essential to strategic planning, allowing organizations to adapt swiftly to market shifts, supply chain disruptions, and customer volatility. Concurrently, advanced analytics—from real-time dashboards to AI-driven models—are empowering firms to optimize responsiveness and performance. Beyond traditional metrics, sustainability is now a key indicator of operational excellence, encouraging firms to embrace circular economy principles, ethical sourcing, and green logistics. This convergence is reshaping how operations are conceived, managed, and delivered in a volatile, digitally enabled, and socially conscious world.
SOM 2025 seeks to explore emerging challenges, untapped opportunities, and strategic capabilities shaping the future of operations and supply chains. The conference aims to foster thought-provoking dialogue that contributes to the evolution of adaptive, data-informed, and environmentally responsible operational practices.
