IASS–IWSS 2026 General Information
The IASS–IWSS 2026 joint conference, to be held in Turin, Italy, in September 2026, will bring together experts, researchers, and professionals from around the world to share research, experiences, and cutting-edge developments in the field of shell and spatial structures.
The event is jointly organised by the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), a long-standing international reference on lightweight structural systems, and the Italian Association for Studies on Shell and Spatial Structures (4S Association), which promotes Italy’s heritage and research in the field. The IASS organizes annual International Symposia on themes related to lightweight long-span structures of interest to engineers, architects and builders. The 4S Association is responsible for the Italian Workshop on Shell and Spatial Structures (IWSS), a triennial meeting whose previous editions were held in 2020 and 2023.
The IASS–IWSS 2026 therefore represents a unique opportunity to actively contribute to scientific and professional discussions on frontier topics in structural and architectural innovation, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between research, design, and construction practice.

Following abstract acceptance, the submission of a full paper is mandatory. Full papers must be submitted by updating the original EasyChair submission, according to the specific instructions provided on the dedicated webpage: https://www.iass-iwss2026.org/info/paper-submission
Please note: To be included in the final program and proceedings, at least one author per paper must register and complete the registration fee payment.
Abstract Submission Deadline: February 15, 2026
Hangai Prize, Nervi Prize, and Pavilion Competitions
During abstract submission, authors will be asked to select one of the two available submission tracks: Regular Paper or Hangai Prize Submission.
Submissions competing for the Hangai Prize are subject to an earlier, strict paper submission deadline of March 31, 2026. Please visit the dedicated webpage to verify the Hangai Prize eligibility criteria: https://www.iass-iwss2026.org/info/hangaiprize
For both submission tracks, authors may indicate their interest in the Nervi Prize by checking the dedicated box in the submission form. Selecting the Nervi Prize option does NOT exclude participation in the Hangai Prize competition. Eligible authors may therefore apply for both prizes, provided that all respective requirements are met. Eligibility conditions can be found here: https://www.iass-iwss2026.org/info/nerviprize
Regarding the Pavilion Contest and Exhibition, a pavilion proposal may or may not be associated with a paper submission. In either case, the deadline for submitting the proposal form (via email to info@iass-iwss2026.org) is February 15, 2026.
Detailed information is available at: https://www.iass-iwss2026.org/info/pavilion-proposal
